Intro by Jessica Borges, LuxEco Editorial Assistant

Nancy Chuda, co-founder of LuxEcoLiving.com and Healthy Child Healthy World, proudly introduces LuxEco Living TV! Our first guest is Laura Turner Seydel, a wonderful mother, eco-advocate and the daughter of CNN’s Ted Turner. Check out the interview below to hear Laura share her insight and passion for an eco-conscious world, free from chemicals and toxins. Laura learned about the importance of sustainable living at a young age and has dedicated much of her life to preserving the environment around us. Among many other leadership titles she holds, Laura is chairman of the Captain Planet Foundation and co-founder of Mothers and Others for Clean Air, and she and her husband Rutherford have built the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Design) certified house in the Southeast (Eco Manor).

With her extensive experience as an environmental advocate, Laura talks to us in today’s interview about the dangerous chemicals that invade our lives through products we buy and food we eat. Children are especially easy targets for chemicals, and Laura stresses the importance of maintaining a chemical-free home for them to grow up in.

She also warns us of the “Dirty Dozen” – a list of foods to be weary of when food shopping:

Peaches, apples, bell peppers, kale, celery, cherries, nectarines, strawberries, lettuce, imported grapes, pears and carrots
