Olivia Newton-John, Beth Nielsen Chapman & Amy Sky Create “LIV ON” – A New Album to Aid & Comfort Those Experiencing Grief & Loss While Using the Power of Music To Heal
I was fortunate to be present at the birth of this powerful project. I have known Olivia and Beth for decades and recently became more acquainted with the talents of Amy Sky. If there is a prediction to be made prior to the release of their collaboration on a new album, “LIV ON,” (Sept 2016), I will say that this melodic trio with their heartfelt lyrics and harmonies are sincerely meant to heal the world one person at a time.
Grief is a personal experience for every individual. For me, losing a child at age 5 to a rare cancer turned my life and marriage upside down. It took years for the pain to go away and even though time is a healer, nothing can replace the loss of a child. Never.

What makes “LIV ON” live on is the fact that everyone needs an outlet to grieve other than a compassionate friend or family member. Music becomes that friend especially when it is composed and sung from individuals who have transcended their personal experiences from loss. Olivia, Beth and Amy deliver what gospel needs but can’t find… a pathway to find meaning, hope and recovery from life’s unanswerable circumstances.

Their true artistry in this timely collaboration grew from the depths of their own gratitude. For wellness. Olivia is “a thriver” having overcome breast cancer, Beth, also a cancer survivor years ago wrote a powerful song, “Sand and Water,” about the loss of her first husband and father of her only child states, ” “We feel this album is very timely because so many people are dealing with grief. We don’t really have the vehicle for how to do that in our culture so music is the great can opener of all kinds of healing. Amy, states, ” All healing and all self-knowledge comes in conversation with other people. It shows us how much we all have in common and that we all have been on this journey together. We made this record to heal ourselves.”
“As a group, it’s our intention with this album to create songs with a message of compassion and hope,” said Newton-John. “They are for anyone facing a time of challenge in their life, whether it is grieving a loss – or on the journey to health and recovery.”
“LIV ON” – means “to thrive, to have hope and to remember.” The message is clear in the lyrics of the album’s title song:
Live on, Live on
Brighter skies will come again
Cry the tears you cry
And then live on, live on
Love is all we leave when we are gone…Live on
Why is this CD important? It’s estimated that approximately 76 million Americans and tens of millions more globally are set to enter into the end of life care continuum either as patients or caregivers. At no time in our country’s history have we seen such an unprecedented need for bereavement care.
“Everyone experiences loss at some time in their lives but how they grieve and heal is personal and individual. This remarkable CD is filled with love, heart and compassion and provides time, space and hope for all who embrace it.”
“LIV ON” will be available on Friday, September 30, 2016. For additional information visit www.LIVONMusic.com, www.OliviaNewton-John.com, www.BethNielsenChapman.com or www.AmySky.com.
